Resources
My favorite information resources:
kellymom.com: A great resource for info on attachment parenting and breastfeeding.
La Leche League: The ultimate source for breastfeeding information. Articles written by a wide variety of lactation consultants and health professionals on every conceivable aspect of breastfeeding. Also find local leaders phone numbers, and meeting times/locations.
The Continuum Concept: A web site devoted to the experiences and theories of Jean Liedloff, author of The Continuum Concept, who lived with a hunter/gatherer society in South America and developed a theory connecting their non-adversarial child-rearing practices to their cultural happiness.
Mothering.com: It’s easy spend all day reading the thought-provoking articles from Mothering Magazine about natural family living and attachment parenting.
The Natural Child Project: A web site devoted to information on how to best allow children to flourish. Based on the idea that ‘children reflect the treatment they receive’, this web site has many thought-provoking articles about discipline, attachment and learning.
Organic Consumers Association: A grass-roots non-profit that is “campaigning for health, justice, sustainability, peace, and democracy.” Who can argue with that? The web site is chock-full of up-to-date environmental info and links to environmentally friendly products.
Healthy Child, Healthy World: A non-profit dedicated to protecting children from the harm of environmental toxins. This is a great web site with a lot of info, including how-to videos.
